this date is o.v.e.r.

to tell you the truth, i have been spending more time reading art history books and watching world war two docs (yes, i’m a war junkie/history buff..who knew??) than obsessing about current affairs like i used to.
this leap in focus is in part to blame by disappointment. feeling slightly dumped. like a prom date left at the [...]

pillowhappy. indeed. must figure out how to make such happy little headrests for my decadent new sofa. (never fear, it was a craigslist miracle)

fear and loathing in prison

i have had in my possession permission to blog about one of the most sincere and responsible projects for about 24 hours now. i was actually nervous to sit down and share it with you for fear that i will somehow not present it properly.

not here please

tidal virtues

I am reminded this week that despite my best efforts to become less materialistic, it is a virtue and virtues must be exercised to stay strong. Do you guys ever feel this way? That your convictions, if allowed to dust over, become less important to you.
I think when I get very busy I tend to [...]

pick me up

on a day you feel your worst-no shower, crusty make-up, pudgy stomach- take your camera and document it. don’t purposely look saggy or droopy but don’t fix yourself up either. just look yourself in the eye and connect. it really will make you feel better. if not a little silly.
hope your weekend is good!

evolve

Evolving  is for the brave. To discover part of our authentic self that needs adaptation is frightening. To answer a buried dream, or fix a human flaw, or take on change, it’s evolution. Many times in the process of authenticating, I came across not-so-pretty traits that I chose not to live with, as well as [...]
